School has been cancelled. Per State of Arkansas Governor Asa we will return on Monday, April 20, 2020 at this time.
March 27, 2020
As we approach Monday, I want to let you know what our procedures will be here at the Cleveland County School District.
All teachers and staff present on campus will be screened outside with a temperature check and for any symptoms by our nursing staff before entering any of the buildings.
WE ASK THAT NO PARENTS OR STUDENTS ENTER THE BUILDINGS FOR ANY REASON WHILE YOU ARE ON CAMPUS. IF YOU NEED SOMETHING OUT OF THE BUILDING PLEASE ASK.
Teachers and staff will be issued a mask and gloves to wear during the duration of time they are working in the building. Please do not be alarmed, as we are protecting both our staff and you with precautionary measures, while teachers and staff are working preparing more lessons for the upcoming weeks.
Paperwork will be collected at RES and be placed in boxes if you want to turn in completed work before picking up any other work for days 6-10, that you may have not received on Monday, March 30, 2020. The paperwork will be disinfected and not be touched for up to another week for grading. This is also a precaution to both our staff and possible contamination to other people. AMI days 11-15 will be available for pickup on April 6 for RES students.
RMS students will only collect days AMI days 1-10 and handout paper packets for days 11-15 of AMI beginning on April 6. Paperwork will be collected in boxes and disinfected, before sitting for up to a week before grading begins.
RHS will submit days 1-10 AMI and download via Chromebooks as needed for days 11-15 AMI.
Starting Monday, April 13 new information will be available for pickup and for turning (AMI days 11-15) in at RES, RMS and RHS for AMI days 16-20.
The cafeteria will begin to handout lunches at 10:45 AM on Monday, March 30 to help streamline parents, who may be dropping off work at RES and also want to pick up lunch for their students. We do ask that you hand in work/pickup work for students, grab lunch and proceed to your vehicles to leave as soon as possible. Please do not hang out in the parking lot and visit with other people.
IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE INFECTED WITH COVID-19 OR SOMEONE WHO HAS QUARATINED OR BEEN TESTED FOR COVID-19, WE POLITLEY ASK THAT YOU DO NOT COME TO THIS CAMPUS FOR ANY REASON. PLEASE CALL AND WE WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO GET INFORMATION TO YOUR STUDENTS.
Certified Staff will only be working a small schedule from 8AM – 12 noon each day. Classified staff will come to the buildings at 12 noon and work until 3 PM disinfecting, sanitizing, and fogging the buildings in preparation for the next group of people the next day.
We will continue this practice for as long as it is safe to do so.
The wireless system will be available for student use beginning Monday. I do ask that you park close to the buildings but remain in your car to utilize the system. Remember the system may be able to only handle 20 devices per parking area. You can utilize parking lots by the RHS Gym, AG Building and Elem/Cafeteria. Kingsland Elementary parking lot may also be utilized during this time.
Mrs. Sparks will provide the login information needed for you to connect to our system by Sunday, March 29.
As the situation continues to evolve, I will keep you updated by the CC Facebook Parent Page and CC Herald Facebook page. I hope that everyone had some fun during Spring Break! I want to thank each and every one of you for hanging in there with us, as this has truly been a new era in education! We are committed to making sure you and your student(s) are as prepared as possible, as we look forward to a school start date of April 20, 2020!
